We love talking about beginnings.
The new job. The first kiss. The launch of a business.

We celebrate the first day. We make vision boards. We buy new journals. We wear our best outfits. Beginnings are romantic. They look good on Instagram.

But we rarely talk about endings.

Endings are ugly. They’re messy. Sometimes shameful. Often silent. They don’t fit neatly into a caption. They rarely come with applause. Most of us leave quietly, hoping no one asks too many questions.

And yet, how you end things, not how you start, is what sets the tone for your future.

I didn’t always understand this. It took a few trainwrecks to figure it out.

The Lie of “Just Move On”

We live in a culture that worships speed.

Move on. Get over it. Don’t look back. Just keep going. What’s next?

But here’s what no one tells you: When you rush past an ending, part of you stays behind.

You leave threads hanging. Emotions unresolved. Stories unfinished. Your mind…
