The D-V-F Technique For Dealing With Change In Your Life
I used to hang out with a group of friends at a particular restaurant during my university days.
We went to this same spot every single time for more than three years. Every so often, Dayo would ask that we try a new place.
We did try a few new places around the university town, but somehow we always came back to our usual spot. One time, we learned that some of their chefs were laid off, and this affected their service, which got worse and worse.
Our orders got messed up, the food took longer to arrive, and it no longer tasted the way we were used to.
Despite the poor service, we continued to hang out there. We were so used to the spot that it’d become our favorite, go-to place.
But what we really didn’t know was that we were resistant to change.
Eventually, as their food got really bad, our dissatisfaction reached a tipping point, and we started to think about what difference it would make if we went somewhere else.
We decided to switch up our favorite hangout spot, looked into a few nearby options, and chose one.
