The biggest turnarounds in our lives often begin with a new realization.
For me, the lightbulb moment was recognizing that every aspect of my life operated on rules and strategies and that committing to mastering them is the only way to improve my odds of success.
This was a major shift in my mindset and approach to life. I became obsessed with developing the skills and habits necessary to achieve my goals and overcome obstacles.
Many people tend to see a game in terms of activity, like football. They see competition, rules, challenges, and goals. But they don’t see the connection with life itself.
The truth is the elements you find in any game are the same as those in real life. The only difference is the level of complexity.
Games or any other constructions of the external world:
- Present a desirable hierarchy of goals.
- Have a structure that frames your attention.
- Introduce a challenge to narrow your attention even further.
- Require a player to have the skill that meets the requirements to play.
