Unfortunately, most people stay in toxic relationships because they lie to themselves about why can’t leave.

If you’re in a toxic relationship, lying to yourself or making excuses for your partner’s bad behavior won’t make your life better. It makes it worse.

In a long-term study that followed more than 10,000 people for more than 10 years, those in a bad relationship had a higher risk of developing heart problems, including a fatal cardiac event.

To get out of a toxic relationship, you must first recognize the lies you’re telling yourself and be willing to accept the harsh truth.
