So many people are unhappy around the world.

According to a 2022 Gallup survey titled: “The Global Rise of Unhappiness,” about four in 10 people worldwide said they experienced a lot of worry or stress, and nearly one in three experienced a lot of physical pain. This survey was conducted in 142 countries.

Why are people unhappy? Is there a way to make happiness easy to achieve?

Why Most People Are Unhappy

We live in an age that’s brimming with opportunities—far more than our ancestors had—and yet most people are unhappy. It’s a paradox!

It seems like the more convenient we try to make our world, the unhappier people become, making happiness an increasingly elusive item.

One of the reasons is that we’ve been conditioned to believe that happiness comes from significant achievements and monumental milestones.

So, we’re constantly yearning for the “next big thing,” chasing after a distant mirage of success, thinking it’s the key to finally unlocking our happiness and contentment.
