Morality has become such a cheap word that people throw it around like a badge. We post it online, argue with it in comment sections, even preach it at dinner tables. But what does it actually mean to be moral?
Is it quoting the Bible? Posting a tweet with a hashtag about justice? Writing a book about ethics?
What I’ve realized is that someone can talk morality all day and still live like a tyrant behind closed doors.
You can know the “rules” and still treat people like garbage. We’re experts at hiding our shadows behind polished veneers.
But morality is not about putting up and act. It’s about discipline. It’s about character. It’s about refusing to become a monster even when you have every reason to.
