People like you or dislike you as a matter of perception. This perception is formed because of your habits, whether it’s about how you talk to others, listen to them, or handle disagreements.

If you’re consistently disrespectful or dismissive to people, they’ll have a negative perception of you and that informs them dislike you.

Here are seven habits that are sure to make people dislike you.

1. You’re a source of insecurity

Some people always find faults, judge, criticize, belittle, and intimidate others at will. They create an atmosphere of fear and insecurity.

They think that making others feel worthless and uncomfortable puts them on top if you find yourself anywhere near them.

When you make people fearful and insecure, you destroy their sense of safety and confidence.

This makes it difficult for them to be open, even if they have something to share with you. Over time, they’ll withdraw from you completely.

People generally like and want to be around those who make them feel valued, respected, and secure.
