Ideally, you’d like to keep their focus for as long as possible. But it’s not easy to maintain focus.

That’s why many people get easily distracted, especially in this age of tech and social media. However, the ability to focus is key to deep work and peak productivity.

So if you’re at work or have an important task to finish, how do you stay focus and keep your mind from wandering?

Here are five habits that can help. They may seem unconventional, but they can make a big difference in your ability to focus, especially if you have ADD.

1. Keep Chewing Gum Handy

Chewing gum is a simple and often overlooked habit that can provide surprising cognitive benefits.

Research has shown that chewing gum can increase alertness and improve concentration.

In an experiment, researchers had two groups of 20 people each listen to a 30-minute recording that included a sequence of numbers.

After listening, participants were asked to remember the sequence. Only one groups chewed gum—and they had higher accuracy rates and faster reaction compared to the non-gum chewers.
