7 Productive Alternatives to Mindless Scrolling

Recover two hours of unconscious use of social media every day

The average person touches, taps, or swipes their phone 2,617 times and spends over 2 hours every day browsing and mindlessly scrolling through social network feeds.

That’s four times more than the time we spend exercising, for instance. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recommends about 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily.

Every little chance we get, whether we’re waiting for a taxi, on a train to work, or hanging out with friends, we’re quick to whip out our phones and bury our faces into them.

But the truth is this: This behavior is costing us heavily and we don’t seem to realize it.

Every minute you spend glued to your device is valuable time taken away from a productive activity that could impact your life better.

Too Much Screen Time Hurts You

Changing a behavior can be challenging if you lack awareness of its costs.

Many people don’t quit smoking because they don’t fully realize how much it affects their health.

It’s the same with mindless screen time and doomscrolling.
