How people see you affects your life in ways that you can’t imagine.

As you meet people, whether on a date or job interview, they form opinions about your personality, character, and behaviors.

These judgments can determine the job you get hired for, whether someone agrees to date you, opportunities that are open to you, and can even make or mar you.

In 1996, Richard Jewell was a security guard at the Atlanta Olympics. One night, he found a backpack filled with explosives. Acting quickly, he alerted the authorities helped evacuate the area, and saved many lives in the process.

People labeled Richard a hero. But a few days later, the FBI and media said he planted the bomb. They painted him as a lonely man seeking attention.

The media frenzy ruined Richard’s life. He was never charged, but the damage was done. His reputation was destroyed and his life turned upside down.

Even after being cleared of any wrongdoing, Richard’s life never went back to normal. He couldn’t find work and faced constant suspicion. The false judgment haunted him for the rest of his life.
