One trait determines your success and ability to overcome obstacles with ease.

University of Pennsylvania psychologist, Dr. Angela Duckworth first discovered this trait in her study of West Point Military Academy cadets.

She found that students who were able to make it through the highly rigorous training program weren’t just those with the highest IQ, talent, or social background.

They had what she called “grit.”

It’s another way of saying that those cadets had “mental strength.” Being strong, gritty, or resilient is a critical element for success.

We like to think that successful people got lucky or that they were born that way. That’s not always the case. However, what’s true is that they learned to be strong by doing things strong people do.

You probably might be doing things that show extreme strength and not acknowledging it because let’s be honest, we like to see the strength of others rather than our own. In fact, we underestimate ourselves.

But here are five signs that will convince you that you’re indeed a strong person, even more than you’re willing to accept.
