You’re assumed to have matured and if you don’t live up to that expectations, you’re said to be “a fool at forty.”
At 40, you’re right in the middle of your life. You have no time to live in confusion about what your life is about.
I sometimes imagine myself at the age of 40 and contemplate what life looks like.
Then I ask myself: “What are the things you wish you had known before reaching this point?”
Though I’m still six years away from reaching 40, this mental exercise not only provides me with clarity about my current choices and actions but also facilitates a conversation with myself about how I want my life to be as I get older.
