5 Things Nobody Told You About Letting Go
The most important decision you can make is letting go when you need to.
We all have things or situations we need to let go of but can’t because of the misconceptions we’ve made to accept what it means to let go.
Here are 5 things nobody ever told about letting go.
1. Letting Go Isn’t Giving Up
There’s a myth that successful people always fight to the finish.
The idea is that if you want to be successful at something, you can’t afford to give up. You have to drag yourself over the line with your last gasp, however, you want to do it.
This culture of “winners never quit and quitters never win,” means that giving up is seen as a weakness — something to be stigmatized for.
So, when people are in precarious situations, they’re scared to cut their losses and move on.
They want to hold on at all costs. To honor their commitments and hope that whatever it is there’s doing will turn out better.
That’s how most people get stuck in abusive relationships, a job they hate, or continue to invest in a failing business, believing that success is just around the corner.
