Today’s workplace requires a new set of human skills.

A few days ago, I watched an interesting video that Simon Sinek shared on his LinkedIn, where he talked about some of the problems businesses face today when dealing with this generation of workers.

Technology has changed a lot and we sometimes focus too much on them.

But let’s not forget that humans remain the ultimate drivers of any change and some of the key human skills required to adapt to these changes are often undervalued.

This article dives into six human skills that can set you apart from the rest of the pack.

How to Have Difficult Conversations

One of the most underappreciated human skills required in the digital age workplace is the ability to have difficult conversations.

This entails having the courage to ask questions or talk about issues where there’s a potential for conflict, tension, or discomfort.

This could be anything from telling someone that you don’t like the way they treat you to giving someone negative feedback at work or asking for a raise.
