Robin Sharma sent me an e-mail listing 17 micro-habits he believes are essential for everyone to have.

If you didn’t know, Sharma is an author and speaker whose work focuses on improving productivity, personal growth, and leadership skills.

He’s the author of “The Leader Who Had No Title” and “The 5 AM Club.”

I thought I should share these habits with you too. Pick the few that are best for you to start with:

  1. Wake up early.
  2. Make your bed each morning.
  3. Starting your day with the sweaty exercise that elevates the tone of your entire day.
  4. Writing handwritten “thank you” notes to people who helped you in the past.
  5. Reading for 15 minutes each evening.
  6. Smile often
  7. Having a reward meal after a week of eating clean.
  8. Checking your work before you send it. Typos show carelessness and the way you do one thing sets up the way you do everything.
  9. Using people’s names when in conversations with them. Not so common yet important.
  10. Listen actively in conversations.
  11. Declutter your space.
  12. Practice good posture.
